Simon Hunter
Partner: Head of Construction
Simon specialises in non-contentious construction law. This includes providing advice to clients on procurement strategy, and the preparation and negotiation of building contracts, consultants’ appointments, bonds, parent company guarantees, collateral warranties and other associated construction agreements. Simon has experience of most forms of standard building contract, including JCT, ICE, NEC/ECC, GC Works, DOM/1, DOM/2 and FIDIC.
Simon also advises on the construction aspects of property, corporate and banking transactions and has acted for clients on major civil engineering projects and for private sector participants on a number of PPP and PFI projects.
Simon is currently acting for clients in the education, retail, leisure, hotels and residential development sectors.
Simon practiced as a quantity surveyor for ten years before qualifying as a solicitor. Simon is a member of the Society of Construction Law and an Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

- Part of the team advising Tragus on their agreement to operate their existing restaurant brands within Center Parcs holiday village
- Acting for University of East London on various construction projects, including Student Residencies Buildings at Docklands and the Stratford campus School of Education
- Advising Aspers Casino in relation to the fit out of their new casino in Northampton
- Acting for Havering College of Further Education in relation to claims against a contract for defective design and workmanship
- Development of a bespoke suite of construction documents for Pizza Hut’s ‘self-build’ programme
- Advising the Jewish Museum in relation to the extension and fit out of their museum in Camden
- Advising Sonic Rail in relation to electrical works contracts with Network Rail at Farringdon and Herne Hill
- Advising clients who are relocating to allow for the development of the Olympic site in East London

Outside work Simon enjoys regular visits to South America and spending time with his wife Renata and their young children Maya and John.
