Neil Long
Solicitor: Private ClientNeil advises on wills, tax and estate planning and the administration of trusts and estates.
He specialises in contentious trust and estate matters, including claims by disappointed beneficiaries, claims relating to validity of wills and issues of testamentary capacity, and disputes between beneficiaries and executors/trustees.
Neil has been a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners since 1996 and is a member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists.
Recent Work
- Drafting and registering a Heritage Maintenance Fund, including negotiations with the Capital Taxes Office
- Advising the beneficiaries of a £20m estate in relation to executors’ duties
- Making an urgent application for an interim grant of probate to allow the immediate sale of a family company as a going concern
- Acting for the beneficiary of an estate where the executor had failed to distribute the estate correctly
