All dressed up: FSI advise Simon Carter on multiple licence agreements

FSI advised Simon Carter Accessories Ltd, the internationally acclaimed menswear and accessories brand, on a number of new licences including a franchise agreement with Moss Bros to open Simon Carter stores.

Already acknowledged as “The King of Cufflinks” for his men’s accessories, Simon Carter’s rapidly growing reputation for stylish menswear has been secured by a long term licence agreement with existing partner, PB Tailoring.  Simon Carter has also cemented the already phenomenal success of the brand in the Far East with a Japanese licence deal. Hot on the heels of these licences, the company has now entered into an agreement with Moss Bros who will launch a flagship Simon Carter store in London’s Covent Garden.

Of his lawyers, founder and designer Simon Carter said: “The brand is growing.  Innovation is key.  I need lawyers that share my entrepreneurial drive and understand the fashion sector.  FSI’s partner led approach coupled with Robert Lands’ understanding of my brand have provided significant comfort during these transactions.”

Under the new agreement with Moss Bros, the Covent Garden Simon Carter store (due to open its doors in September) will be the first of a new breed, carrying a broad range of Simon Carter accessories and clothing.  Established in 1985, the designer’s range is popular with customers and celebrities alike and stocked in 35 countries around the world including the US, Canada, Italy, Japan and Australia.

Commenting on the deal, Robert Lands of FSI said: “We’re delighted to have been able to lend our commercial and intellectual property expertise to the company during this exciting phrase of the brand’s development.”
