Rebecca Mandal

BEFORE FSI
Rebecca graduated with a degree in English from Cambridge University. After gaining work experience in different areas and travelling in North America, she completed the GDL and LPC at BPP Law School. Before starting her training at FSI, she worked as a solicitors’ clerk, volunteered on an island in Scotland and went interrailing around Europe.
Rebecca joined FSI as a trainee in September 2008.
SEATS COMPLETED
Rebecca's first seat was in the Corporate department. During her time in this department, Rebecca gained experience of a range of corporate transactions, including a number of share purchases. She was also involved in the preparation of loan agreements, confidentiality agreements, AIM admission documents and articles of association.
In her second seat, Rebecca worked in the Property department. She drafted leases, licences and other documents for commercial clients and assisted with the sale and purchase of residential properties. Rebecca was also involved with property litigation work as well as dealing with various post-completion matters.
Rebecca's third seat was in Commercial Dispute Resolution. Rebecca assisted on a variety of commercial disputes, including financial services disputes, bankruptcy matters, debt recovery and professional negligence claims in the County Court and High Court. Her work included research, disclosure of documents, drafting statements of case, preparing bundles for hearings and advocacy. Rebecca spent a lot of her time working on a complex, high-profile High Court case, which involved reviewing and analysing material, assisting with disclosure, working on responses to requests for further information and preparing trial bundles.
Rebecca is now in her final seat in the IP / Media department.
