Nisha Aggarwal

Solicitor: Property

Nisha completed her training contract with FSI in September 2009, having completed seats in the Company and Commercial, Family, Intellectual Property and Media and Commercial Property.  

Nisha is a newly qualified solicitor in the Commercial Property where she covers a wide range of commercial transactions including acting in acquisitions and disposals of individual properties for high value clients.  She has a very in-depth knowledge of Stamp Duty Land Tax and is involved in structuring transactions to minimise its impact.  She also assists the Property Litigation team and deals with the recovery of rent and service charge arrears on behalf of Landlords as well as assisting the Property Construction team in construction disputes.

Recent Work
  • a high value client dealing with the property aspects of a tenant taking a unit within a new build shopping centre
  • a leisure company in agreeing a series of advertising agreements within their leisure parks
  • a construction dispute that has reached adjudication
  • a large developer selling individual units within a new build development in Canary Wharf

Nisha has co-authored several articles:

Copyrightworld (published in their hardcopy journal in the April 2009 issue): this article was a review of the proposals contained in the Gowers Report in respect of the law relating parody.

Solicitors Journal (published on www.solicitorsjournal.com on 4th November 2008): this was an analysis of the law relating to pre-nuptial agreements and how the law is developing in light of proposed reforms and recent case law.

Solicitors Journal (published in their hardcopy journal in issue 152, 2008): This article Examines the Family Division judgment in McCartney v Mills McCartney in the context of other judgments in short marriage cases involving exceptional wealth, noting the fact-specific nature of such cases.
