Jonathan completed his training contract with FSI in September 2009, having completed seats in the Company and Commercial, Commercial Property, Commercial Dispute Resolution and Employment Departments. He has now qualified in to the firm’s Employment Department where he undertakes a wide range of employment work for both employers and employees including:

drafting and reviewing contracts of employment and staff handbooks, policies and procedures

advising on and managing collective and individual redundancy procedures

bringing and defending unfair dismissal, discrimination and breach of contract claims in the Employment Tribunal

handling disciplinary and grievance procedures

advising on compromise agreements

advising on potential TUPE and other employment liabilities in relation to asset sales and business reorganisations
Recent Work
- Advising employers in relation to claims for unfair dismissal, breach of contract and discrimination
- Successfully advising various employers on formulating and running collective redundancy procedures to minimise claim risk
- Advising employee clients on a range of issues including negotiating and terminating contracts of employment, disciplinary procedures, unfair and wrongful dismissal and negotiating commercial settlement terms
